保羅．克里夫 Paul Cleave 紐西蘭基督城人。他出版的所有小說場景均設定於此。曾於零售店及當鋪打工，特別是當鋪的工作經驗幫助他得以觀察到基督城許多不為人知的陰暗面。嗜讀犯罪小說，同時也熱愛恐怖電影。寫作之餘，他花不下於寫作的時間看動畫《辛普森家庭》。 從小就熱愛寫作的克里夫自十九歲起開始在課堂上偷寫小說。二十五歲完成《清掃魔》，六年後《清掃魔》出版後於國際書市造成轟動，售出美、英、法、德、日、澳洲、波蘭、土耳其、巴西、俄羅斯、捷克……等多國版權，並將改編為電影。二○○七年四月於德國出版銷售隨即突破二十五萬本！新書上市期間銷售成績僅次於最新一集的《哈利波特》，成為該年德國最暢銷的紐西蘭翻譯作品，更榮登德國亞馬遜書店犯罪小說年度銷售排行冠軍，堪稱紐西蘭最具代表性的國際級暢銷犯罪小說。 目前克里夫正著手撰寫他的下一本小說。
